Insecurity and the fear of losing control are two things that keep us from learning, from changing, and from moving forward.

When our sense of security is built upon a foundation of money, or on a title, or on a plan, we will grow stale and we will stop moving forward.

We will stop growing.

When our peace is built upon a feeling’ of being in control,we will lose the opportunity to take risks and to find the sense of significance that was ours to have.

We won’t step out of the boat.

Sometimes it’s the stable things in life — even the good things — that can be keeping us from learning and growing. Change and transformation often occur in an environment of surrender — the place where there’s nothing left to lose.

Only when our motivation to grow in love, wisdom, and generosity, overshadows our motivation to protect our money, our position, and our plan, will we understand life.

Stay curious, stay generous, and be hungry to learn.
