Sometimes the cure to a lack of motivation or a feeling of obligation is to simply choose again.
What often begins with a burst of excitement and tankful of motivation, can quickly become monotonous, burdensome, and boring.
This isn’t always bad. Some things have their time and then they’re done.
However, when it comes to something that you shouldn’t quit — something that your future self would have preferred you not quit — the only thing that will continue to keep you committed, passionate, and moving forward, is if you choose to… again.
Whatever the thing is — a job, a community, a hobby, a relationship — the only way to keep moving forward is to choose to move forward. The answer is to do what you did at first and to choose again to take the job, to embrace the community, to enjoy the hobby, and to commit to the relationship — not out of obligation, but out of your own free choice.
Perseverance is the technical term for choosing something again and again and again and again.
