The good stuff isn’t on the surface.

If you want to build something, you’re going to have to dig down deep to find the good sand.

The sand on the surface is dry and it won’t support much. You need to dig out the good, rich stuff from underneath.

That’s a lot like life.

If you want life to be authentic, rich, and meaningful, you’re going to have to dig down deep, get the dry surface sand out of the way, and uncover the dark, rich stuff from deep below.

It’s difficult to choose to do the work of digging down into our lives, but from time to time life itself has a way of dramatically eroding our surface. This is painful and disorienting, but God is just giving us a head start and showing us where to continue digging.

A whole, healthy, meaningful life is built with the stuff below the surface.

I dug a big hole in a sand pit with my daughter today.

Hi, I’m Michael and this is my daily project where I write about diverse ideas.
