Darkness is the canvas that God creates upon. He’s waiting for our light to burn out.
Broken things are the materials that God uses for his art. He’s waiting for us to stop holding our shattered selves together.
A dead person is the kind of person that God will heal. He’s waiting for us to stop moving around so he can perform the surgery.
A lost person is the kind of person he will find. He’s waiting for us to burn our maps and delete our apps.
A weak person is the kind of person that will find his strength. He’s waiting for us to accept our frailty.
God is loudest in the silence of the desert, most comforting in the isolation of the prison, brightest in the darkness of the cave, most satisfying in the moment of hunger.
Maybe he’s just waiting for us…
