Everything Has One
Everything that ever was, first began.
A meal. A trip. A project. A relationship. A day. A year. A life.
Without a beginning, nothing that is, could have been.
The beginning is special. Like a rush, the beginning of something brightens our eyes, increases our sensitivity, and puts us on the edge of our seats.
And it’s a rush because it’s scary. We’re fearfully, wonderfully excited about the potential and the possibility of what the beginning will bring.
But that same fear that can give birth to excitement can at times, instead, give birth to a debilitating anxiety. This anxiety has cynicism and doubt playing on perpetual loop. It nervously announces, “This won’t work”, “You can’t do it”, “What about _______ and _______ and _______?”.
When this happens, we end up either running from, or freezing in the face of, the beginning. Irrationally, we become fearful of the one thing that is necessary for anything to be something, the beginning.
We were made for beginnings. We were made to make that thing. To start that thing. To do that thing.
However big, however small, however popular or unpopular, and whatever the outcome.
And, today is the beginning… of my new project where I’ll be writing daily about diverse ideas. It’s not for everyone, but it might be for you.
So, what beginning will you begin?
This is my daily project where I write about diverse ideas.
This is ‘Dose’ #1.
